Definition
An obligation individuated by its source of bindingness: it binds because the profession's ethical code or an ethical principle requires it, independently of legal enactment. Contrast LegalObligation (bindingness from law or regulation). The source axis is orthogonal to the topic axis of the sibling classes (safety, disclosure, confidentiality, ...): an obligation may bear one type from each axis.
Source-axis obligation kind: bound by the ethical code or an ethical principle rather than by legal enactment (e.g. a duty to honor the spirit of the code).
